The National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC) is a public administrative body under the control of the Ministry of Culture. It implements the state’s policies in the cinema, moving image, audiovisual, video and multimedia (including video games) industries.

The Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) is a central government department under the control of the Minister of the Economy and Finance. The DGE’s mission is to develop competitiveness and growth for companies of all sizes, in the manufacturing, digital, small-scale industry, trade and services sectors. In conjunction with the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), it has been a driving force behind the implementation of policies to support the development of the video games industry, including the Video Games Support Fund (FAJV) and the Video Games Tax Credit (CIJV).

The Union of Video-Game Publishers (SELL) represents publishers of video-game and leisure software (for the general public, not business use) at national level. It promotes and defends the collective rights of video-game publishers, helps regulate the market (classification, promotion of the sector, anti-piracy, media etc.) and helps ensure the sector is recognized by all professionals, the authorities and consumers. The union supports the European standard PEGI, a genuine rating system for video game content providing clear and reliable information on packaging labels.

The Video Games Union is the professional union representing French video game production companies and publishers as well as entities supporting production activities in France and partners in the creation of video games. The union seeks to enable production companies established in France to speed up their development and raise their competitiveness on the international market. The SNJV also brings together video games industry training institutions within the video games schools network.
